You will receive full training to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to complete the following duties: 

  • Financial services administration assistant, providing full financial services administration support to our team of financial advisers. The role is integral to the organisation as it helps to facilitate the smooth running of managing clients financial situations
  • To learn and understand financial services regulations and ethics, completing CII R01 in support of this
  • Use a range of bespoke systems and ensuring compliance is met
  • Mortgage research, DIP, application processing, co-ordinating requirements between lenders, conveyancers & clients, follow up through to completion
  • Buildings & contents illustrations and application processing
  • Protection research, illustrations, application processing, follow through to commencement of risk
  • Investment & pension application processing, following through to completion
  • Prepare packs for adviser meetings, which are simple for new clients through to comprehensive packs including valuations and contribution/withdrawal histories for Pension & Investment reviews
  • Updating the New Business Register following completion of checklists
  • Checking suitability reports for content & accuracy. Checking underlying research for the same
  • Packaging suitability reports for presentation to clients
  • Maintaining adviser diary
  • Accurate recording of all client/policy records on 1st Software/Avello/Iress Adviser Office including use of Activities & Event Lists
  • Provide support to paraplanner and adviser
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and correctly
  • Update the Back Office System
  • Issuing documentation to clients
  • Meeting and greeting customers
  • Processing Letters of Authority
  • Ongoing maintenance and service of existing client base
  • Processing new pension and investment business
  • Investment and pension reports for new business and reviews
  • Fund reviews
  • Platform research


As well as on the job training, you will complete a Financial Services Administrator Level 3 apprenticeship standard. This will include working towards R01 via the CII.
