Working while you're still at school
You can get a part-time job while you're still at school but you're only allowed to do some types of work and can only work certain hours.
The youngest age you can work part-time is 13. There are types of work that you can and cannot do and you can only work certain hours (see below).
By law you must also have a work permit.

The following information is taken from GOV UK's information on child-employment
During term time
You can work a maximum of 12 hours per week, this includes:
- a maximum of 2 hours on school days and Sundays
- a maximum of 5 hours on Saturdays for 13-14 year olds, or 8 hours for 15-16 year olds
- you cannot work before 7.00am or after 7.00pm

In the school holidays
13-14 year olds can work a maximum of 25 hours a week. This includes:
- a maximum of 5 hours on weekdays and Saturdays
- a maximum of 2 hours on Sunday
15-16 year olds can work a maximum of 35 hours a week. This includes:
- a maximum of 8 hours on weekdays and Saturdays
- a maximum of 2 hours on Sunday
