e2e

If you live in Norfolk and are finding it difficult to get into a job, Apprenticeship or college place, e2e could be for you.

What is e2e?

e2e stands for Entry To Employment. It can help you if you're not sure about career choices or  don't have the experience, skills or qualifications to start an Apprenticeship, college course or  job.

What kind of things do you do on e2e?

e2e programmes are made to suit you. Usually they will involve things like getting skills you need at work, basic reading, writing and number work if needed, key skills like working as part of a team and finding and applying for jobs. You get all this plus experience at work.

What qualifications will I get?

A wide range of options is available in Norfolk such as Retail and Business Studies (including Office and IT skills), Hairdressing, Health and Social Care,  Catering, Engineering (Motor Vehicle and Mechanical), Carpentry and Brickwork. Ask your Connexions Personal Adviser for more details.

 Is e2e for me?

It could be if you

  • aren't  employed.
  • have left school.
  • are under the age of 19.
  • aren't at college or training.

(If you are aged 19-24 you may still be able to start e2e - contact Connexions Norfolk for more advice.)

How can e2e help me?

e2e aims to build up your confidence and skills. You will have the opportunity to experience work, and develop the kind of skills and attitudes that will make you employable.

How long do I stay on an e2e programme?

You can join e2e at any time and stay for as many weeks as you choose to make the most of your opportunities. You can even work part time alongside e2e and when you feel ready you can move on to a job, Apprenticeship or college course.

The average time on the e2e programme is 22 weeks, by which time you should be ready to progress into employment or further education.

Do I get paid?

You will be treated as a Work Based Learner and will be eligible to apply for an Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) .  The amount of EMA you receive depends on your household income and will be up to £30 a week. EMA is paid directly into your bank account and household benefits are not affected.
