Manufacturing and Product Design
The Diploma in Manufacturing and Product Design (DMP) will give you the chance to gain a real understanding of the practical skills and knowledge required to work in the manufacturing sectors in the UK. You'll learn about manufacturing practices and processes and have the chance to apply your technical skills in a real work environment.
The DMP covers a huge range of manufacturing sub-sectors, including, for example:
- Paint, coatings and inks,
- Building products,
- Printing, Extraction, mining and quarrying,
- Furniture, Technical textiles,
- Footwear, apparel and leather goods,
- Food and Drink Manufacturing, Chemicals
- Brewing and Distilling, Process manufacturing,
- Oil and gas, Metals, Machinery equipment, Automotive, Marine, Aerospace and more...
Dependent on the level of Diploma you are studying it may be possible to specialise in one, or more of these areas.
Important – If you plan on going on to Higher education after yourAdvanced Diploma, talk to a teacher or adviser about your Additional/Specialist learning choices. What you choose may restrict which Degree coursesyou can take.
If you've got a specific university or course in mind , contact the university's Admissions office and ask them about which Additional/Specialist learning they recommend.
