Almost all applications for full-time higher education courses are made through UCAS.
You usually apply in the Autumn before you plan to start your higher education, so you'll need to start researching during the first year of your course.
All applications are made online, using UCAS Apply. The closing date for applications to most courses is 15 January.
Higher education (HE) describes the range of courses you can take after A Levels or another Level 3 course.
This includes degrees, Foundation Degrees, HNDs and other courses at the same level.
HE is not just offered at universities. There are many opportunities to study HE at local colleges too, as well as distance learning from the Open University and other providers.
