There are so many things to see and do at a West Suffolk College Open Event. whether you know exactly what you want to do or don’t know where to start, we can help you, and by the time you leave you will be counting the days until you can come back.

Make your way to The Gateway Building at the front of College. Here you will be greeted by our friendly staff and students and directed to register.

Once you have registered there are many things for you to do.

All our course areas are represented in the Gateway Building. One of our friendly student runners can take you to the area of your choice. Here you will meet the staff and find out what courses are available. If you want to see more you can then go over and explore the facilities in your chosen area.

Not sure where to start?

Take your time to visit each area in the Gateway. There is sure to be something to inspire you. You can also:

• Have a tour of the campus and discover all our amazing facilities.
• Have a talk from a member of staff about everything that goes on at College (in Leonardo House).
• Pick up a map and explore for yourself
• If you’re still not sure about what you might like to do then you can speak to one of our qualified and impartial guidance advisers. They will be able to give you help and advice to get you on the right path. Make your way to Student Futures at the front of the Gateway.

Once you have seen all there is to see it’s then time to apply for a course.

• You can apply in the course area or in one of our dedicated online application rooms.
• Alternatively you can apply online at home. Visit, select your course, register your details and then ‘apply.’ Remember that you can apply for more than one course and if you do apply there is no obligation to come here (although we would love you to!). It just means that your application is in nice and early so you can get your interview out of the way to concentrate on studying hard for your exams. You don’t have to make your final decision until the summer.

Located approximately ½ a mile from the main campus The Milburn Centre is our dedicated construction training centre which offers specialist facilities for training in:

• Carpentry and joinery
• Painting and Decorating
• Plumbing and Electrical
• Plastering
• Bricklaying
• Construction Management

You can make your own way there or take our mini–bus shuttle service. The pickup area for the bus is at the front of the Gateway.
